Doki Doki Literature Club

This is one of those games (brought to my attention by Chezni) worth playing without knowing anything about it.  That being said: spoilers ahead.

I’m not typically a fan of visual novels due to their lack of interactivity – if I wanted to read a Manga, I would read a Manga.  There’s one notable exception to this.  That being said, a visual novel can still pull of an interesting story – one that doesn’t quite work inside a book or on a TV show.  I initially thought that Doki Doki Literature Club was going to be the mental illness version of Katawa Shoujo.  It….feels a bit like that.  As far as I can tell, though, there aren’t nearly as many interactions (of course, that’s part of the plot) – there is also quite a bit of ARG analysis that goes beyond my typical effort for a game.  It’s free, and it’s probably worth a couple hours of your time.
