In Girls Like Robots, you must place girls, robots, nerds, cows, and more on a grid while keeping them happy on average. Girls like robots (as you might expect) and dislike nerds. Nerds dislike nerds, but like corners and girls. Robots like girls but no more than three at a time. Cows…have their own thing.
This game confuses me. Possibly because I am a nerd. The setting is very “cute” with many “jokes” spread throughout and the music has a heavy country influence, but it all fell flat for me. Perhaps if the mechanics themselves didn’t encourage a clique mentality or one of separating people into classes. Maybe I just don’t like puzzle games as much as I thought. My one true complaint is the arbitrary limitations it imposes on how you place pieces. Quite often, it will only give you one piece at a time of a random type – which doesn’t make the puzzle any more difficult, it just makes keeping track of where you want to put things more difficult.
I had no desire to continue playing this, so it goes to Tier Three.
