Infra

This is quite possibly the only game I’ve played that starts you out sitting through a meeting and going through a PowerPoint. I honestly could not tell you if it was meant to be serious or not; it seems to be since it is the introduction to the game and meant to set the stage for a banal start, but it’s just so ridiculous I can’t be sure.

Halo 2 (Remastered)

I’ll give it one thing: after playing for a while and switching to the old graphics, I legitimately thought “it can’t have looked this bad, can it?” In fact, I was so convinced that they had downgraded the graphics of the classic version that I booted up my old copy of Halo 2 to check. From the physics which make the golf ball bounce just a little too far to the holes designed to infuriate you by making the ball roll just off the screen, the game seems determined to annoy you. On the other hand, it’s not cruel about it – there’s really no pressure to continue, and any goals are really ones you set yourself. This separates it from games like Getting Over It or The Impossible Game, where either the game taunts you (in the former case) or requires such precision that memorizing a sequence of inputs is the only path forward (in the latter case).
